Element Materials Technology has been recognized by Telecom Business Review Magazine as the exclusive recipient of “Featured vendors (Jan - March) 2022,” based on our proprietary methodology, reflecting its position in the industry. This profile has been developed by the Telecom Business Review research and editorial team based on insights from an interview with Dominic Murphy, Vice President, Connected Technologies, Element Materials Technology.
Dominic Murphy, Vice President, Connected Technologies, Element Materials Technology Headquartered in London, Element Materials Technology (Element) is an industry leading, global testing, inspection, and certification services provider for advanced industrial supply chain products, technologies, and materials. The company today has more than 200 laboratories worldwide, where scientists, engineers, and technologists help customers navigate the intricacies of early research and development, complex compliance approvals, and the production and marketing of sustainable, efficient, and safe products. “Element makes important contributions to technology advancement,” says Dominic Murphy, Vice- President, Connected Technologies, Element. “We work in partnership with our customers to enable their products and devices to get to market on time with quality and with technical know-how.
Even during the pandemic, Element quickly restructured its entire business model to align with the evolving market. “Client participation in testing is fundamental in this industry.
During the global lockdown when we were required to follow various restrictions to avoid viral infections, we implemented technologies and tools to serve clients who couldn’t visit our facility.
We deployed a remote witness testing solution powered by well-secured camera and webcast systems, enabling them to test products with us throughout COVID-19,” Murphy adds. That’s not all! Element also spent long, creative hours advising customers as they redesigned their products in response to challenging supply shortages.
With the massive backlog due to lower testing capacity with the pandemic, Element invested in additional capacity and shifts to help customers get caught up and meet tight deadlines.
Honing such capabilities, Element is a trusted partner across a plethora of industries, from aerospace, energy, and construction to life sciences. For example, a large original equipment manufacturer (OEM) contacted the company when they were notified by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) about their product’s noncompliance in Hearing Aid Compatibility (HAC). Element quickly sprang into action, set up a testing plan, and conducted numerous tests. The results provided an effective plan suggestion and various software parameters that needed to be fixed. As a result, the client successfully met the FCC standards within two weeks without even having to recall any device from customers.
As the next step in the company’s evolution, Element is expanding its capabilities by keeping abreast of the latest technological innovations. The company has recently extended its footprint in Silicon Valley, Maryland, and South Korea through numerous acquisitions and has more such plans for the next two years. “Element is growing and supporting our customers, investing in and alongside them to maintain our position as technology leaders. We have a track record of working with new technologies for over thirty years, and are excited for the days ahead as we continue to advance the industry forward,” concludes Murphy.
