Lumine Group (TSXV: LMN) has been recognized by Telecom Business Review Magazine as the exclusive recipient of “Top OSS BSS Software Solutions 2026,” based on our proprietary methodology, reflecting its position in the industry, and is also named among “Top Telecom Software and Technologies Providers in Canada,” reflecting its broader leadership. This profile has been developed by the Telecom Business Review research and editorial team based on insights from an interview with David Nyland, CEO.
Communications service providers depend on software that sits close to two demanding parts of the business. BSS platforms handle customer-facing work like billing, customer service, order fulfillment and product management, while OSS platforms help operators monitor and manage networks.
Lumine Group (TSXV: LMN) approaches these needs through a portfolio of specialized software businesses, giving each company room to stay focused on its market.
That structure begins with Lumine’s ownership model. It acquires communications and media software companies with the stated intention of holding them permanently. Businesses continue under their own brands, retaining control over strategy while gaining access to its resources. For telecom software companies whose products may remain embedded in a customer environment for years, the structure preserves continuity instead of forcing integration into one corporate platform.
The portfolio reflects that specialization. Lumine classifies companies around business support systems, operations support systems, network applications and content and media. Its BSS businesses address customer and revenue workflows, while its OSS companies focus on network visibility, control and infrastructure management. The result is a collection of products built for distinct service-provider requirements rather than a suite assembled around single technology architecture.
Lumine supports those businesses with a shared playbook, access to capital and peer learning group-wide. Its framework contains hundreds of practices that portfolio leaders can adapt to their circumstances. The model is intentionally decentralized. A company can draw on common methods for areas like product investment, sales or service delivery without surrendering the market knowledge, customer relationships or product direction that made it valuable in the first place.
BSS Depth across Subscriber and Revenue Workflows
Lumine’s approach of combining specialized, independently managed businesses with shared expertise is visible across its BSS holdings. MDS Global, a subsidiary of Lumine, provides systems for monetization, customer experience, eSIM and decision intelligence across B2B, B2C, B2B2X and IoT business models. Its software supports MVNOs, network operators and wholesale providers across mobile, fixed and converged services. This places billing and customer management inside a broader commercial framework.
VAS-X, a telecom software company under Lumine’s portfolio, approaches the market through a full-stack BSS and OSS offering for telecom operators and service providers. Its capabilities include billing, customer management, real-time recharge, credit management and fulfillment on demand. Its modular structure gives operators a way to address individual requirements while retaining a path to a broader stack.
Other businesses address narrower but equally important parts of the commercial chain. TOMIA, another portfolio company that is an innovator and leader in global monetization solutions, provides software for data and financial clearing, roaming and interconnect. It helps operators manage inter-carrier activity and monetization. Its customer base includes more than 400 operators, including 30 Tier 1 operators. Ubersmith, a modular software company acquired by Lumine, combines billing with device monitoring and ticketing for telecommunications providers, ISPs, hosting companies and data centers.
These range matters because BSS requirements change with business model, network type and customer segment. Lumine does not ask every portfolio company to converge on the same product strategy. It keeps them independently managed while creating opportunities to share experience across a larger communications software group. That allows specialized products to remain close to their users while the businesses behind them gain a broader base for investment and development.
OSS Capabilities Close to the Network
On the OSS side, Lumine’s holdings address how providers configure, observe and manage communications infrastructure. Incognito Software Systems supplies automated broadband management software spanning device management, service orchestration, network intelligence and IP resource management. Its products are used across fiber, cable broadband and 5G fixed wireless access environments, serving more than 200 service providers worldwide.
Netadmin Systems, a Sweden-based company under Lumine’s portfolio that develops and provides Netadmin Nine, focuses on fiber network management and has built a strong presence in open-access fiber markets in Northern Europe. The company has also contributed to TM Forum work on a standardized wholesale broadband product model and APIs for B2B services. That combination of domain software and standards participation places its work close to the practical requirements of provisioning, assurance and wholesale fiber service management.
SpatialNetworX, an autonomous business unit under Lumine, adds a different layer of network planning and management. Its portfolio includes spatialDESIGNER, a web-based tool that produces high-level fiber designs in seconds. The capability turns network data into a planning output that can support earlier-stage fiber decisions.
Such focused products illustrate the portfolio logic behind Lumine’s OSS presence, where individual businesses address specific points in the network lifecycle rather than duplicating one another.
Advantage 360 extends that coverage with convergent OSS and BSS software aimed at smaller telecom operators, including Tier 3 and Tier 4 providers. Its platform brings customer and network functions into one environment for markets that may not need the scale or complexity of systems built for the largest carriers. Lumine’s portfolio, therefore, spans both highly specialized tools and broader platforms, each tied to a defined service-provider context.
Independence at Scale
Lumine’s differentiator is not simply the number of products under its name. It is the way the group combines industry concentration with autonomy. Portfolio companies retain their identities and control, while it supplies a communications-focused ecosystem, capital for growth initiatives and a framework for sharing methods across businesses. Product teams can continue responding to customers from within their existing domains instead of being absorbed into a centralized software organization.
The model also creates room for collaboration without requiring product consolidation. Lumine brings leaders together through learning events, networking and mentorship, allowing businesses to compare approaches while maintaining control over their own priorities. Its ecosystem spans more than 50 countries and serves more than 1,200 customers, including operators across multiple tiers. That reach gives individual companies a broader peer network than they would have alone.
For customers, the practical value is visible in the range of use cases supported across the portfolio. A provider can encounter Lumine companies in broadband device management, fiber network planning, billing, roaming, interconnect or customer management. Each business remains accountable for its own product and market, while the parent group concentrates on strengthening the company behind it.
Lumine’s recognition as the Top OSS BSS Software Solutions 2026 reflects this combination of specialized telecom software, permanent ownership and decentralized management. Its portfolio addresses customer-facing systems and network-side requirements through companies that remain focused on distinct problems, while shared resources support continued investment. The measure of the model is not uniformity, but whether those businesses can keep serving operators reliably, extend adoption and improve their products over time.
