A telco provider's top priority is investing in the multi-cloud to adopt and efficiently implement 5G services and meet shifting consumer needs.
Multi-cloud at the edge
Multi-cloud partnerships involve at least two public cloud providers or hyperscalers. It enables businesses to develop and deploy any application in any cloud, enhancing flexibility and mobility.
Consequently, enterprise cloud adoption via several hyperscalers is becoming increasingly prevalent. This is partly driven by the necessity for in-region sovereign clouds and localized hybrid cloud providers to assure security and data access while complying with local data privacy and security laws and regulations.

A secure and resilient edge is essential for telcos to provide consistent 5G services that enable enterprise clients to adapt to changing customer needs and new working methods. Providing multi-access edge computing (MEC) enables AI/ML jobs that provide higher intelligence on network operations and assure the delivery of high-bandwidth, low-latency apps on a distributed architecture.
Keeping a step ahead of the telco industry's evolution
Many network components in the telecommunications industry still operate on 2G and 3G, which can be difficult to "rip and replace." As telcos increasingly adopt 5G, their objective is to reduce their dependence on legacy network infrastructure and simplify the network through virtualization. In that case, they will not only be able to relish the benefits of 5G in the near future, but they will also be well-positioned to adopt 6G and other technological innovations as they emerge. A competitive market presents opportunities for telecommunications companies ready to take advantage of the next major shift.
