In 2018, US Communications was chosen as the technology design assist team for the New MetroHealth Glick Center in Cleveland, OH, a new state-of-the-art main campus hospital with 11 floors and 316 patient rooms. Hospitals have always been challenged with indoor wireless coverage, and this new building in an existing campus with traditional DAS proved too complex and costly for the project. US Communications recommended the CommScope ION solution, which was a perfect fit.

Running CommScope’s ION in-building wireless solutions over traditional CAT6a cabling allowed the hospital to support multiple low-voltage applications, like Wi-Fi and security. This was accomplished through the frequency agnostic design of the UAP, supporting the widest possible range of mobile operator services and providing flexibility to adopt new ones.
